Admissions into the Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP)

The University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS) is inviting applications from highly qualified and motivated applicants for admission into the Graduate Entry Medical Programme for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

Nature of Programme and Duration
The Graduate Entry Medical Programme (GEMP) is an integrated 4-year Medical Programme which leads to the award of MBChB Degree. The Programme will begin in April 2025 and will be run on a FULL-TIME and NON-RESIDENTIAL BASIS for the Phase I and residential for Phase II.

Entry Requirements
1. Applicants should have a good BSc Degree (Minimum of 2nd Class Lower or equivalent CGPA in unclassed degrees) in the following science-based courses: Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Human Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Physician Assistantship, Pharmacy, Nursing, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy, Sonography, Optometry, and Radiography. Graduates whose courses are not listed should not apply.
2. Candidates should have obtained a good WASSCE/SSSCE grade (Minimum of ‘C’ in WASSCE and ‘D’ in SSSCE) in three (3) core and Three (3) Elective science subjects one of which must be Chemistry.
3. There should be evidence of having completed National Service (if applicable).

All applicants are expected to pay to the University a non-refundable application processing fee of US$55.00. This fee can be paid directly, or wire transferred into the University of Ghana ECOBANK Account. The Details of the Account are:

The pay-in-slips together with applicants’ certificates/result slips should be scanned and attached to the application form before submission online. The certificates/results slips should be scanned into one PDF or Word document and attached to the application form. 
Note that no application will be processed without proof of payment of the fee.
